Configuring notifications
ProTasks sends notifications across three channels — in-app, email, and Slack. You control which events fire on which channels so you only get the signal.

Notification types
We send notifications for these events:
- 1
Assigned — when a task is assigned to you.
- 2
Due soon — when a task you own is due within 24h.
- 3
Overdue — when a task you own is past its due date.
- 4
Mentioned — when someone @mentions you in a note or comment.
- 5
Watched task done — when a task you watch is completed.
- 6
Comment — when someone comments on a task you own or watch.
Per-channel preferences
- 1
Open Settings → Notifications.
- 2
For each event type, toggle in-app, email, and Slack independently.
- 3
Save. Changes take effect immediately.
We recommend keeping in-app on for everything, email on for assignments and overdue items, and Slack on for urgent or due-soon events only.
Slack notifications
If your workspace has Slack connected, admins configure the default channel and bot name in Settings → Slack. Individual users can also receive direct-message notifications for items assigned to them.
Daily summary email
Each morning, ProTasks can send you a digest of what's due today, what's overdue, and anything new on your watched tasks. Toggle it on in Settings → Notifications.
If you only check email and not the app, the daily summary is the most efficient way to stay on top of things.
Watching tasks
Watch a task to get notified about its activity even if you're not the owner or assignee. Open a task → click the eye icon to add yourself as a watcher.
